The One LUT. Simple.
This LUT takes the confusion and guess work out of getting natural colours from the BMPCC4K and 6K.
I found Blackmagic Design’s recommended BMPCC4K and 6K LUTs rather underwhelming.
The highlight roll off felt too severe, the skin tones were out, it added an odd ‘brown-ness’ to the image, it didn’t reflect what I was seeing on set.
When I shoot with the Alexa, I use the one Arri Rec 709 LUT. It just works.
I performed a bunch of tests against the Alexa to create one LUT for the BMPCC4K and 6K that achieves a comparable colour response, accurate skin tones and smoother highlight rolloff.
I use it in camera and in the grade for consistent, natural results.
Made for Blackmagic’s Gen 5 Color Science.

THE ONE LUT for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K. Cube format.
Apply THE ONE LUT to BMPCC4K + 6K Film (Color Science Gen 5) log footage in your NLE or to Blackmagic raw files in resolve.
I correct my footage (WB, Exposure, Levels) under this LUT in Resolve by placing it at the end of my node tree.
In Premiere, I use it in the ‘Creative’ panel of Lumetri Color and make any corrections prior to the LUT in the ‘Basic Correction’ panel.
A similar workflow applies to FCPx.
If you’re not too familiar with using LUTs, this should fill in a few blanks for you:
